About Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)

Early Childhood Family Education ECFE) is a program available to all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth and kindergarten enrollment. It recognizes that families provide children’s first and most important learning environments and that parents are their children’s first and most significant teachers. It is the mission of ECFE to strengthen families and support the ability of all parents to provide the best possible environment for the healthy growth and development of their children.

    Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a community education program of Proctor Public Schools and Hermantown Community Schools.  We provide classes, programs and services for families with children from birth to kindergarten age.  ECFE classes include time for parents and children to learn together, parent discussions facilitated by a parent educator and interaction among children to engage, learn and grow together within an early childhood classroom.  Classes still available include:E-H-306 Baby Chat:  Mondays, 9:30 - 11:00 @ Hermantown Area Family Resource Center - for families with babies born since 1/1/18.E-H-307 Tiny Tots:  Thursdays, 9:30 - 11:00 @ Hermantown Area Family Resource Center - for families with children born between 3/1/17 & 11/31/17 (this class will start in January, 2019).
