A guided kayaking adventure awaits! Hermantown Elementary teachers, Joe Borak & Chris Pederson, are back and they are excited to share their passion for the outdoors and our local waterways with you. Beginner kayaking will cover safety, paddling techniques, and trip planning. Be prepared to spend your morning on Pike Lake, Caribou Lake or Island Lake. No Prior experience needed! Come learn and have fun! All Kayaks and life jackets are provided by Community Ed, but it is helpful if you bring your own life jacket to ensure a proper fit. Transportation will be available to and from Hermantown Elementary.
Each day has a different theme. Pike Lake day is intro to kayaking and kayaking safety, Caribou Lake day we will be fishing out of kayaks, Island Lake day is exploring boats in island campsites
The morning session will take place from 8:00 am to 11:30 pm. The afternoon session will take place from 11:45 pm to 3:15 pm.
