School Readiness is a preschool programs for four and five year-olds with a focus on helping children begin kindergarten with the skills and behaviors needed to succeed.
Stepping Stones is a preschool program for three year-olds with a focus on helping children begin kindergarten with the skills and behaviors needed to succeed.
Reading Pals is a volunteer partner reading program that connects students at Hermantown and Proctor elementary schools with positive adult role models once a week during the students lunch. Students can either read aloud to the volunteer or have the volunteer read to them. Our program focuses on building positive relationships between the students and the volunteers along with working on reading and literacy skills.
We are planning to get Reading Pals launched the first week of November at all three of our sites and will run till the end of April. Reading Pals will be at Bay View Elementary on Tuesdays from 12:15-1pm, Pike Lake Elementary on Wednesdays from 1:30-2pm with our Pre-K students, and Hermantown Elementary on Thursdays from 11:15-12:15pm.
