  • Bridges to Kindergarten - Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Families with young children want them to have the best possible start when they enter kindergarten. Just as our schools need to be ready for the children, the children need to be ready for school. Join us for a fun, informational session to learn about the expectations for kindergarteners and what you can do at home to help your child be “school ready” in 2019.In our first Bridges to Kindergarten series, families will start off the night together with activities and a circle time in the kindergarten classroom. Parents will then have the opportunity to hear from the elementary and preschool staff about what “school readiness” means. We will discuss what a typical day of kindergarten is like and the skills that children need to succeed in kindergarten. This first session will provide information on the importance of children’s school readiness with a focus on social and emotional development. During the parent discussion, prospective Kindergarteners will have fun in the kindergarten classroom with our child care staff.  Please register your Preschooler (not the parents) and choose your payment option based on the number of children and siblings that will be attending.On-line registration will close approximately 4 days prior to the event.
