    Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports, and Community Education invites everyone to play! Whether you are new to the sport, haven’t picked up a paddle recently, or you’re a veteran player, you’ll find social pickleball to be fun and engaging. All games are self-officiated, and the teams will be determined by players. Prerequisite: Players must be able to rally and keep pace at a basic level. Equipment, paddles, and balls are provided courtesy of Community Education. Due to the high-demand for district athletic facilities, all play must end promptly at 7:00 pm

    Join Laura Meillier to play Spikeball, an exciting sport that combines the teamwork of volleyball, the hand-eye coordination of four squares, and the physicality of a cardio workout, during the session. All players are welcome, regardless of skill level. Beginners will be taught the rules and strategies to outsmart their opponents.

    KIDS' ZONE INFORMATION: Kids' Zone will be offered before and after school for currently registered families on their in-person learning days. Kids' Zone allows kids to be kids. We offer ample time to play and have fun in a safe and supervised environment. We offer a wide variety of gym games, crafts, toys, activities as well as free time. Our activities enrich and engage children in a social environment that encourages cooperative play. Staff strives to maintain a 1:12 ratio that is below the State of Minnesota’s rate of 1:15. This allows for more individualized care and more one-on-one time with your child! HERMANTOWN KIDS ZONE IS CURRENTLY FULL FOR 23/24 SCHOOL YEAR. 2024 SUMMER REGISTRATION Online registration for summer will open on February 19th at 9:00 AM for current families. Summer registration will open on February 26th at 9:00 AM for new families. SUMMER KIDS ZONE IS CURRENTLY FULL.   • Lil' Diggers Volleyball Camp

    Open to boys and girls in grades K-5 of all abilities, for the introduction and development of individual & team volleyball skills. Grades K-2 will practice from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm & Grades 3-5 will practice from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm (Monday-Wednesday, June 3-5) This program will take place in the Field House Gym at Proctor High School.   • Get your Scuba/ Snorkel Gear Ready

    Scuba divers and snorkelers, get your gear ready for the season. This is a two-evening open pool event, to try out your equipment for the summer diving season. If you have not been in the water for a long time this is a good way to get some practice time in.
  • Women's Volleyball

    Open volleyball for women provides you with the opportunity to get out and play in a fun and competitive environment that fits your schedule. Grab your shoes and knee pads and get ready to hit the court and feel like an athlete! Injury prevention is important, and the first 15 minutes of each night will be focused on dynamic stretching. Teams will be divided up weekly, self-officiated, and underhand or overhand serving is allowed.
  • Hungry for Kindergarten at HES (Summer 2024)

    This course is for students entering kindergarten in the fall of 2024. Follow "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle as he learns what Kindergarten is all about. This class is open to students entering kindergarten this fall. Students will participate in a classroom enriched by an abundance of books, words, letters, numbers and other instructional aids. Various learning centers will allow students to explore and interact socially. In addition to academic skills, students will work on projects promoting fine motor skills, handwriting, and independence. Finally, snack, music, movement and outdoor experiences will be a part of each day ensuring wellness and group play. All classes will be held at the Hermantown Elementary School. On the first morning of classes (Monday, July 22th) please bring your child to the northeast entry by the big gym (Door #4). We will direct you to the kindergarten classroom. It is your responsibility to arrange for transportation to and from the school. Please see that your child is picked up promptly as there are no aides to supervise children after classes.

    Early Childhood Program

    The 2024-2025 Online Class Registration Lottery will be open on Friday, March 1st at 8AM. Registered families will receive a notice by March 22nd that their registration has been received. Families will be notified of their class placement no later than May 1, 2024. Priority is given to families that reside within the Proctor and Hermantown School Districts. You'll be notified when your placement is confirmed. The Proctor/Hermantown Early Childhood Program offers Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) Parent/Child classes, 3, 4 and 5 year-old Preschool classes as well as a variety of special events throughout the year. All of our classes are taught by licensed Early Childhood teachers and Parent Educators. Our School Readiness program has been awarded the top “4 Star” rating from the State of Minnesota’s Parent Aware Rating System for Quality Early Childhood Programs! Our 4 Star rating certifies that our pre-school program has met Minnesota’s highest standards for teacher licensing and training and student curriculum and assessment

All of our courses are taught by Minnesota Department of Education licensed teachers. At the end of the program, your student will have gained the knowledge to successfully pass the written permit test, confidently drive on the road, and be prepared for his/her driver license exam. Each student will participate in 33 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel with our licensed staff. Please be sure to review all the necessary information regarding Youth Driver Education prior to registering here. Questions: contact Ines Chandler, Driver's Education Coordinator - ichandler@isd700.org Note: If you are on the waiting list, you will ONLY be contacted if you become eligible for a spot in this class. If your child does not meet the minimum age requirement, you can email ichandler@isd700.org to be put on an underage waitlist.
