RailHawks Preschool is a continuum of services offered by our Early Learning team for children preparing to transition to kindergarten the following year. Preparation for supporting successful learners starts with nurturing student curiosity with teachers who understand the science of how students learn best, which is at their own pace and according to their interests. It is natural and encouraged for children to learn through play; alongside you, we will foster a love of lifelong learning through creative movement, visual arts, and music. Intro to Nature RailHawks Preschool is a continuum of services offered by our Early Learning team for children preparing to transition to kindergarten the following year. Our licensed educators take the traditional preschool classroom outdoors. Students spend at least half the day outdoors in our school forest, engaging and learning through outdoor exploration. Research shows that open-ended play in nature allows children to use creativity, develop self-regulation skills, and enjoy various physical and mental health benefits. Our nature preschool programs focus on nature-related thematic units, including insects, trees, seasons, hibernation, and more, as students continue their growth in literacy, math, science, and social-emotional learning in preparation for a successful learner. Step Into Preschool is an opportunity for children not quite three years old to begin who are ready to start transitioning to the classroom and work on their independence skills. During their time in the classroom, the teacher will focus on social and emotional development, peer-to-peer interaction, and basic introduction to math and literacy.
