Summer learning is an opportunity for students who will be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2025 who may need some extra time building skills in the area of social-emotional development to gain the confidence they need to prepare for the next step in education. Time will also be spent in the areas of literacy, math, science, etc., to boost student growth. Students will spend the majority of their day learning with and through nature to become successful learners. Summer Nature Camp 2025 outdoors is happening in June only! Each day, students will learn about critters, habitats, and conservation issues right here in Northern Minnesota. The vast wooded acreage is the perfect classroom to help students engage in nature while they learn skills necessary to starting school. If your child loves exploring, is naturally curious, lights up with each small discovery, and doesn't mind some mud, this is the perfect setting for them! Complete one registration for each child that you are registering for Summer Nature Camp. Please note there is no class on June 19, 2025, in observance of Juneteenth (the class will instead be held Friday, June 20th).

RailHawks Preschool is a continuum of services offered by our Early Learning team for children preparing to transition to kindergarten the following year. Preparation for supporting successful learners starts with nurturing student curiosity with teachers who understand the science of how students learn best, which is at their own pace and according to their interests. It is natural and encouraged for children to learn through play; alongside you, we will foster a love of lifelong learning through creative movement, visual arts, and music. Intro to Nature RailHawks Preschool is a continuum of services offered by our Early Learning team for children preparing to transition to kindergarten the following year. Our licensed educators take the traditional preschool classroom outdoors. Students spend at least half the day outdoors in our school forest, engaging and learning through outdoor exploration. Research shows that open-ended play in nature allows children to use creativity, develop self-regulation skills, and enjoy various physical and mental health benefits. Our nature preschool programs focus on nature-related thematic units, including insects, trees, seasons, hibernation, and more, as students continue their growth in literacy, math, science, and social-emotional learning in preparation for a successful learner.
