    Kick your fitness into gear with this interval training approach that incorporates dynamic moves using kettlebells to enhance your strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. Our experienced instructor, Lindsay Moen, will help you burn calories with this upbeat full body work. Kettlebells will be provided but not shared. Participants should bring an exercise mat.

    Come stretch, breathe, move, dance, relax, create, and have FUN! These classes will include age-appropriate yoga and movement- including breathing, poses, games, stories, music, relaxation, meditation, and more. Your little yogi will get to practice fine and gross motor skills, social and group skills, and begin to learn mindfulness and breathing/calming tools. Grades K - 5 Please send an after school snack with your child. Participants will meet instructor in the HES Gym at after dismissal (3:30pm)

We offer ample time to play and have fun in a safe and supervised environment. We offer a wide variety of gym games, crafts, toys, activities as well as free time. Our activities enrich and engage children in a social environment that encourages cooperative play. Staff strives to maintain a 1:12 ratio that is below the State of Minnesota’s rate of 1:15. This allows for more individualized care and more one-on-one time with your child! HERMANTOWN KIDS ZONE IS CURRENTLY FULL FOR 23/24 SCHOOL YEAR. 2024 SUMMER REGISTRATION Online registration for summer will open on February 19th at 9:00 AM for current families.   • Leap Into Second Grade at HES (Summer 2024)

    This course is for students entering Second Grade in the fall of 2024. Students will participate in exciting classroom experiences to help them review and prepare for the second grade. Writing, reading, phonics, and math centers and mini-lessons will be provided daily. Small groups will also be used to help your child work on skills at their level as they review what taught in First Grade. A short recess will be provided as an activity break each day. Please send a water bottle with your child. All classes will be held at the Hermantown Elementary School. On the first morning of classes (Monday, July 22nd) please bring your child to the northeast entry by the big gym (Door #4). We will direct you to the program classroom. It is your responsibility to arrange for transportation to and from the school. Please see that your child is picked up promptly as no aides supervise children after classes.

  • Merritt Martial Arts - Summer 2024 Program

    Develop your physical and mental health through various Contemporary and Traditional Martial Arts training. Participants can expect to learn Martial Arts history and philosophy, plus a great workout. This session includes light contact sparring and Belt Rank Promotions for qualified candidates. There will also be an additional fee of $20 for belt rank promotions & sparing equipment. Lessons will take place on Mondays & Wednesdays at Solway Town Hall. Monday Classes are for Beginners and Wednesday classes are for returning students at or above Gold belt level. The first hour will run from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The second hour will take place from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Anyone 8 and above can participate in either session. One hour lessons are $40/month. Two hour lessons are $80/month.

    Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports, and Community Education invites everyone to play! Whether you are new to the sport, haven’t picked up a paddle recently, or you’re a veteran player, you’ll find social pickleball to be fun and engaging. All games are self-officiated, and the teams will be determined by players. Prerequisite: Players must be able to rally and keep pace at a basic level.
